  Overview:
   
  This document discusses the processes that comprise a full JPEG 2000 image coding system.  The coding framwork is specified extensively in the 15444-family of documents that are published by the ISO/IEC international organizations.  The international standard is composed of five parts.  Part I describes the baseline coding system, which represents the minimum functionality required for compliance with the standard.  This document only discusses elements of Part I with a focus on the JPEG2000 compression system, while Part I describes JPEG2000 from a decompression standpoint.
