MIL-STD-2045-44500 establishes the requirements to be met by systems complying with NITFS when using the TACO2 protocol.  It defines the protocols and formats that make up TACO2 and specifies the TACO2 aspects that affect functional interoperability.  Additionally, it provides for TACO2 operation aspects that are not strictly related to interoperability but may affect technical performance or resistance to error.
